Proposition 18: Primary Voting for 17-Year-Olds Amendment

Position: Yes

The Libertarian Party of California supports Proposition 18, which would allow 17 year-olds who would turn 18 prior to the General Election the ability to vote in Primary and Special Elections earlier that year. While this does not dramatically change the voting age, this would allow full participation in the political process for young people eligible to vote later in the same year. We do not believe that they should be arbitrarily barred from exercising their political agency.
