Celebrating 50 Years of History

The Libertarian Party is generally considered to have been “born” on 11 December 1971, when the group who had been calling themselves the “Committee to Organize a Libertarian Party” decided to go ahead and actually organize it!

You are invited to help us celebrate the LP’s 50th birthday with a Birthday Party!

We’ll be gathering on 11 December of this year, starting at 1pm, until about 5pm. We’ll be celebrating with pizza, looking at photos and other memorabilia from past campaigns and other projects, hearing from some of the “old-timers”, honoring some of the prominent LP activists who live in our area, and of course we’ll have a birthday cake.

The party is being held at the home of Brian Holtz and Melisse Lusin. Brian is not only a long-time LP member, but is also an elected (and re-elected) public official, currently serving as President of the Board of the Purissima Hills Water District.

Food Arrangements:

We already have volunteers providing the pizza, salad, and cake. But you are welcome to bring an additional dish to share if you are so inclined – a side dish, another dessert, whatever you think might be appreciated. (You can help us plan and minimize duplication by letting our Activities Chair, Bob Goodwyn, know what you are thinking of bringing – please send him a note at activities@scclp.org.)
