Judge Jim Gray

Judge Gray received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Southern California in 1971 and practiced law in both the public and private sectors until being named to the Santa Ana Municipal Court in 1983. Gray was then appointed as the presiding judge of the Superior Court of Orange County, California, by Governor George Deukmejian and served in that position from 1989 until 2009 when he retired from the bench. In 2004 Gray took a break from his duties as Judge and was the Libertarian candidate for the United States Senate in California. He has always been an outspoken critic of the War on Drugs and in 2011 he was one of the four co-sponsors of the initiative Regulate Marijuana Like Wine which would have placed the same regulations on cannabis as that for wine in California. In 2012 Gray received the nomination of Libertarian Party convention delegates on the first ballot with 60% of the vote and became the running mate of former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson in the 2012 Presidential election. He is the author of multiple books including Why Our Drug Laws Have Failed and What We Can Do About It – A Judicial Indictment of the War on Drugs.

Tom Campbell

Tom Campbell is an American academic, educator and former politician. He is currently a Professor of Law at the Dale E. Fowler School of Law, and a Professor of Economics at the George Argyros School of Business and Economics, at Chapman University, in Orange, California. He was Dean of Chapman University School of Law from 2011-16 and was a former five-term Republican United States Congressman from California’s 12th and 15th districts, former member of the California State Senate, a former Professor at Stanford Law School, former Dean of the Haas School of Business, and former professor of business administration at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2016 Campbell published an Op Ed in the San Jose Mercury calling on the Republican National Committee to replace Donald Trump as the nominee for President, and stating that Campbell would withdraw from the Republican Party if that did not happen. Campbell officially changed his registration to independent shortly thereafter. Campbell was also included on a list of potential Supreme Court nominees issued by Libertarian Party Presidential nominee Gary Johnson.
