The Libertarian Party of California’s 2017 State Convention will convene from April 28 to April 30 at the Santa Clara Marriott Hotel, 2700 Mission College Blvd., Santa Clara, CA 95054 (near San Jose International Airport). This will be our first convention in the Bay Area since 2009, and it should be the gala event of the season, featuring exciting speakers, tasty meal events, party business, and camaraderie with fellow freedom-loving individuals from throughout California.

Deadline to reserve rooms at the discounted rate is April 7, so please hurry. Convention package prices will go up on April 1, so now is the best time to make your plans.
Speakers are being confirmed daily, and we expect several more will sign on in the next few days. We will have a few elected Libertarians on hand to share their success stories. Stay tuned for frequent updates about our speakers and the rest of the program, including the gala Saturday Night Banquet.
Party business will be conducted as well, with election of officers and State Executive Committee members, and discussion of bylaws and platform. If you are a dues-paying party member for any 90 day period preceding the start of business, you are eligible to be a delegate and participate in party business. If your membership has expired, now is the time to renew, or you can do so at the convention. Some of the packages include membership renewal, so you can sign up there as well.

In other news, we have a new party secretary. Honor “Mimi” Robson from Long Beach was appointed to replace Kevin Duewel, who resigned. We also have a new at-large State Executive Committee member. Baron Bruno from Marina del Rey was appointed to replace Mark Hinkle, who resigned. Welcome aboard, Mimi and Baron!
